Mapping

A YEAR BETTER project recognizes that mastering digital skills is essential for seniors to lead independent, connected and fulfilling lives. That’s why Work Package 2 (WP2) focuses on mapping Digital Survival Skills aligned with the DigComp framework and identifying practical digital solutions to support active ageing.

Key objectives of WP2 are:

  • Mapping digital survival skills to help seniors manage daily tasks online – from accessing healthcare to handling finances – ensuring they stay in control of their lives.
  • Identifying free digital tools and services available in each partner country (Spain, Poland, Italy, North Macedonia) and the Europen Union that alleviate loneliness and dejection by fostering social connections and inclusiveness.
  • Developing a repository of digital solutions, offering a collection of user-friendly online resources that promote seniors’ self-sufficiency and active participation in society.

Each partner will conduct secondary data analysis and produce a country report in English, shedding light on seniors’ digital needs. This research will not only raise awareness of the importance of digital inclusion but also support the creation of upskilling pathways, ensuring older adults are part of Europe’s digital transformation.

Through this comprehensive mapping process, A YEAR BETTER takes a crucial step toward closing the digital gap and empowering seniors to embrace technology confidently.
